The Gliga Gems II viola has been handcrafted in Romania with wood from the Carpathian Mountains, specifically from the Italian Valley, where it is known that Antonio Stradivari chose some of the woods used for his instruments.
Gliga manufactures all its instruments by hand from the first emptying of the wood to the final finish, mostly using oil-based varnishes in thin layers until great transparency is achieved. The antiqued final finish adds great warmth to the look of the instrument.
It is an ideal instrument for intermediate level students.

Tonica strings have a core made of nylon. They produce a lively and full sound, perfectly balanced on all four strings. They respond instantly to any style of bow playing, rewarding player and listener with an open, direct sound. They are insensitive to variations in temperature and humidity.
